We had a really cold and fun time at the cabin. We hadn't been there fifteen minutes and Conner was crying. It was a good thing we left Eli and Laura at my parents in Rigby. Conner took off his gloves and put them on the top of the fruitless fireplace and he was crying while sitting on the couch inside the cabin quickly turning into a popsicle. We didn't start a fire or turn on anything because we were only going to clean off the deck roof and head back home. I not so patiently tucked his arms inside his coat with his hands in his armpits and zipped him up. I sat him in a sunny spot out of the wind on the steps below the deck. He was still crying but I climbed up the ladder to assist Ted with the snow removal. Scott was having a ball exploring everything. I heard Conner stop crying and I did check on him periodically for those of you who are calling children's services. :) Pretty soon we were surprised by Scott who had climbed up the ladder and was helping with the snow removal. He tracked all over the main part of the roof because the snow hadn't fallen off. It looked like lots of fun after I got over my initial heart attack. :) He even went over and took a peak down the chimney. He slid down several times and climbed back up to do it again. I promise we really watched him in case we had to dig him out of an avalanche. By the end, Ted and Scott were both doing it. We also got to eat at Big Jud's and the kids spent some of their own money on the little vending machines there. Someday soon I hope they don't want to spend their money like that. But I remember driving my own mother crazy over the same thing...Just desserts :).
