Rachel asked Grandma what she meant by "playing with buttons." I just had to get out the jar of buttons that I have inherited from Mom. We had a lot of fun putting the buttons in primary classes.
I'll introduce them to baseball later. All the buttons are ready for Primary.
Recognize any of these buttons? These are just a few that brought back memories. I thought the black one with the sparkles in the middle was beautiful. I remember the red "mother." I used to put little buttons on her "lap" for her to hold.
It didn't take Rachel and Erin Joy long to figure out how to play with buttons. After Primary, the buttons got on the bus all ready for school.
Notice the bracelet Rachel is wearing. That was a surprise in the button jar. It is my old Merrie Miss bracelet. Anybody remember Merrie Miss? Probably not....I really am the old one. Merrie Miss used to be the 11-12 year old primary girls class. We earned "jewels" for our bracelet by doing various projects. I remember memorizing the articles of faith for one jewel, crocheting a pot holder for another, and knitting a hanger for one. I think I had to make bread too.
Ah, such fond memories.....
The girls are still playing with the buttons. I got bored so I took pictures and started blogging. It is a sunny day again! We have had sun all week! I'm going to weed something then take the girls to a park. I need as much vitamin D as I can get before it rains again.

I remember "Merri Miss". My mother was the Merri Miss Teacher for most of my growing up years...she taught all of her daughters....I don't remember when they took the name away. I think it was after I graduated from high school. Maybe.
I remember those buttons too. one pink one was named Helen, the other pink one was sharon christensen. Those buttons really were the best of times!
